Typing Tests

Measure your typing speed and accuracy in your own language. Each test runs for 1, 3, or 5 minutes, uses text written in that language, and keeps everything in your browser — no account, nothing uploaded.

Keyboard drills for phones

A touchscreen will not build typing speed, but it will teach you the layout. These drills practise where each letter sits, a few taps at a time, using spaced repetition.

Preparing for a government exam? The Hindi typing test includes exam presets with Kruti Dev (Remington) input. Need to count words instead of timing them? Every language has a word counter.

Frequently asked questions

How is typing speed measured here?

Gross WPM is every character you typed divided by five, per minute. Net WPM subtracts your errors per minute, and accuracy is correct characters out of everything you typed. Nothing is uploaded — the whole test runs in your browser.

Which test should I pick?

Pick your language. Each test uses text written in that language rather than translated filler, and scores it the way that script is actually written, so a letter and the marks attached to it count as one character.

Can I take a typing test on my phone?

You can, but a touchscreen will not build real typing speed. For phones, the keyboard drills teach where each letter sits on the layout, which is the part that transfers. Speed practice needs a physical keyboard.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no login and no upload. Your results are stored in your own browser so you can see your progress, and clearing your browser data clears them.
