Examples
Type Arabic without an Arabic keyboard — phonetic Arabizi with suggestions, a keyboard layout, an on-screen keyboard, and voice.
Arabic is written right-to-left, and its letters connect within words. Type Arabic without an Arabic keyboard: write words in English letters (Arabizi) and pick the correct Arabic word from the suggestions, switch to the keyboard-layout mode for exact letters, use the on-screen keyboard, or dictate with voice typing.
Using Arabic typing
Examples
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| salam | سلام |
| marhaba | مرحبا |
| shukran | شكرا |
| ana bikhair | انا بخير |
Common problems
- The suggestion list shows more than one Arabic word for the same Arabizi spelling — pick the correct one from the candidate dropdown instead of assuming the first guess is right.
- Uncommon or multi-syllable words may only offer a single rough guess — switch to keyboard-layout mode for exact letter-by-letter control.
- This is transliteration, not translation — typing an English sentence phonetically will not translate its meaning into Arabic.
Copy & paste
The output is standard Unicode Arabic with automatic letter joining, so it pastes correctly into WhatsApp, Word, or Google Docs.
On mobile
Works in your phone's browser with no app to install; the candidate dropdown and keyboard-layout toggle both work with touch input.
Frequently asked questions
How can I type in Arabic without installing anything?
Use voice typing (speak Arabic, get Arabic script text) or your device's built-in Arabic keyboard, then use this workspace to edit, count, export, and share.
How do I type Arabic without an Arabic keyboard?
Type the word in English letters the way it sounds — for example "salam" — and choose the matching Arabic word (سلام) from the suggestions. Arabizi is ambiguous, so a few options are offered and you pick the right one. Switch to keyboard-layout mode for exact letter-by-letter control.
Why does Arabic text go right to left?
Arabic is a right-to-left language. The workspace sets the correct direction automatically, and the copied text keeps working correctly in WhatsApp, Word, and email.
Can I paste the text into WhatsApp, Word, or Google Docs?
Yes. The output is standard Unicode Arabic with automatic letter joining, so it works in WhatsApp, Gmail, Word, and Google Docs. Use the Copy or Share buttons, or download it as a .txt file.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes, it works in your phone's browser with no app to install. The candidate dropdown, keyboard-layout toggle, and on-screen keyboard all work with touch input.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
Completely free, no account needed. Your text is processed in your browser and autosaved locally — nothing is uploaded to our servers.
Can I use the Arabic text in WhatsApp, Gmail, or Word?
Yes. The output is standard Unicode Arabic, which works everywhere — WhatsApp, social media, Gmail, MS Word, Google Docs, and official documents.
Is this a translator?
No. It converts the sounds you type into Arabic script (transliteration), it does not translate meaning. Type Arabic words phonetically; English sentences are not translated.
Do the letters join automatically?
Yes. Arabic letter shaping (initial, medial, final forms) is handled by Unicode and your device's fonts automatically — you type the base letters and the text renders joined.
