The Nepali route that always works
Worth stating plainly, because it is the practical reason to type rather than dictate. Nepali has comparatively little speech-recognition support: a high error rate, and browsers that decline it entirely.
Typing has no such dependency. It runs in your browser, behaves identically on every device, needs no speech service, no connection to a recogniser and no account. In Chrome and Edge a microphone appears in the input area if you want to try it — the Nepali voice typing page sets expectations honestly — but this is the route to rely on.
You choose the register; dictation chooses for you
Nepali encodes who you are addressing in the verb ending, and तिमी, तपाईं and हजुर are not interchangeable. The difference between them is the difference between a text to a friend and a letter to an official.
Typing it out means you decide. Dictation transcribes the register you were speaking in, which produces text where every word is correct and the tone is wrong for the reader — a rewrite rather than a correction. Here that problem does not arise.
Counting, copying, and getting it out
Double long vowels as you type — dhanyabaad gives धन्यबाद — and ळ from the Nepali keyboard, since the rules cannot produce it.

Frequently asked questions
Is typing more reliable than dictating for Nepali?
Yes. Nepali speech recognition is thinly supported and some browsers do not offer it at all, whereas typing runs entirely in your browser and behaves the same everywhere. The microphone is here if you want it, but this is the route that always works.
Will it choose the right honorific verb forms?
It writes exactly what you type, which is the point. Nepali marks register in the verb — तिमी, तपाईं and हजुर take different endings — and here that choice is yours. Dictation transcribes whichever register you happened to speak in, which is the usual reason dictated Nepali needs rewriting.
How do I write long vowels?
Double them — aa, ee, oo. dhanyabaad gives धन्यबाद. Roman spelling records vowel length nowhere else, so this is the habit that most improves what comes out.
Where is ळ?
On the Nepali keyboard, in the consonant row. Typing will not produce it — vel gives वेल with an ordinary ल — so draft here and tap the letter there.
