Urdu is written right-to-left in the Perso-Arabic script, traditionally in the flowing Nastaliq style. Use the on-screen keyboard for letters like ٹ, ڈ, ڑ and ے, or dictate with voice typing — the workspace handles right-to-left text correctly.

Frequently asked questions

How does Urdu voice typing work?

Click the microphone, allow access, and speak Urdu. Your browser's built-in speech recognition converts speech to Perso-Arabic (Nastaliq) text, which you can insert into the workspace and export. This is speech-to-text in Urdu — not translation from English.

Is my voice recorded or uploaded to WorldTyping?

No. Voice recognition is handled by your browser/device provider (for example Chrome's speech service). WorldTyping never receives or stores your audio — only the recognized text appears in your workspace, and it stays in your browser.

Which browsers support voice typing?

Chrome and Edge on desktop and Android have the best support, and Safari on iOS/macOS works in recent versions. If your browser doesn't support it, use your phone keyboard's dictation button instead.
