Plan for a second pass
Most pages here tell you to type and use the keyboard for the occasional correction. For Odia the balance is different, and the reason is arithmetic: it has the shortest list of stored exact spellings on the site, so far more of what you type goes through the rules.
odia is on that list and gives ଓଡ଼ିଆ correctly, subscript dot included. A near-miss like odiaa gives ଓଦିଆ — exactly what those letters say, and the wrong word. Typing the plainest spelling you can think of is the single best habit here.
Three letters that only the keyboard has
ଡ଼ and ଢ଼ are a base letter plus a subscript dot, and nothing in Roman spelling signals that dot. ଳ is not in the transliteration scheme at all.
All three sit in the consonant row of the Odia keyboard. Draft the passage here, then place them there — it is faster than trying spellings until one happens to work.

Frequently asked questions
Why does one spelling work much better than a similar one?
Because Odia has the shortest list of stored exact spellings on the site, so most words go through the rules. odia gives ଓଡ଼ିଆ correctly; odiaa falls through and gives ଓଦିଆ, a faithful reading of those letters and the wrong word. Type the plainest spelling you can.
Where are ଡ଼, ଢ଼ and ଳ?
On the Odia keyboard, in the consonant row. All three are tap-only: the subscript dot on ଡ଼ and ଢ଼ is not something Roman spelling can signal, and ଳ is not in the scheme at all.
Should I expect to correct more than in other languages?
Yes, and it is better to plan for it. Odia is the least-resourced language here for both transliteration and speech, so drafting by typing and finishing on the keyboard is more of a two-step process than it would be in Bengali or Hindi.
Can I dictate?
In Chrome and Edge a microphone appears in the input area, but Odia speech support is thin — and where a browser has no speech recognition the button does not render at all. If the button does not respond, the browser is declining rather than the page failing.
