Chinese is typed via pinyin IMEs or dictated by voice. Use voice typing to speak Mandarin and get Simplified Chinese text, or paste text to count characters — the standard measure for Chinese — and export or share it.
Frequently asked questions
How does Chinese voice typing work?
Click the microphone, allow access, and speak Chinese. Your browser's built-in speech recognition converts speech to Han characters text, which you can insert into the workspace and export. This is speech-to-text in Chinese — not translation from English.
Is my voice recorded or uploaded to WorldTyping?
No. Voice recognition is handled by your browser/device provider (for example Chrome's speech service). WorldTyping never receives or stores your audio — only the recognized text appears in your workspace, and it stays in your browser.
Which browsers support voice typing?
Chrome and Edge on desktop and Android have the best support, and Safari on iOS/macOS works in recent versions. If your browser doesn't support it, use your phone keyboard's dictation button instead.
